By 2026, India can be the third-largest market for cars in the world in terms of volume. The Indian automotive industry produces 25 million vehicles annually. And exports 3.5 million out of those 25 million. In short, the Indian automotive market is huge. The trend of Electric cars in India is also gaining in popularity.

In this article, we have some information about electric cars in general and the top 3 electric cars in India.

What Are Electric Cars?

Electric cars are more commonly known as Electric-vehicles or EVs. EVs run on electric motors rather than a combustion engine. These vehicles use large size batteries that must be charged according to the use.

You can charge the batteries at home or charging stations. These batteries have a useful life of several years, and you can easily replace them once they go faulty.

Top 3 Electric Cars In India

This vehicle can go up to 312 Km on a full charge. The battery generally takes around 8.5 hours to charge from 10% to 90%. In case of fast charging, the battery can go from 0% to 80% in a mere 60 minutes.

One of the best things about this electric car is the fact that it looks like a proper car. There is nothing small about the design, comfortably accommodating up to four people.

Mahindra E Verito has a decent top speed of 95 km/h and can go up to 140 km on a full charge.

Conclusion:

Indian automobile market is no doubt huge. However, the demand and production of electric cars in India are still in the early days. The infrastructure is not ideal for electric vehicles, and the country’s consumers still want a traditional car.

With 1.3 billion people living in India, one could only imagine how it would be like once the people start demanding electric vehicles. So, when it comes to India, no market is small – all you need is proper marketing.
